Every programme of the advanced and professional levels has a well-defined modular plan, which dovetails into the next level. The content of each module is clearly defined with specific learning outcomes. Our detailed lesson plans are implemented through a range of teaching methods including lectures, seminars, interactive sessions, workshops, industry visits and guest lectures delivered by eminent professionals.
You attend Lecture Sessions conducted by internal and external faculty, all of whom are industry professionals. Workshops are an integral part of the teaching methodology. These are conceived to qualitatively enhance and complement content and to impart relevant professional skills to you. A range of such workshops have been designed to help you inculcate personal and professional qualities.
Special emphasis is laid on developing practical skills that are essentially required in the workplace. These include personal quality initiatives, leadership, teamwork, strategizing to maximize resources, time management and adapting to change.
Our Faculty also organize Guest Lectures by eminent industry experts who give you invaluable inputs and broaden your understanding of the subject that you study. You not only gain from their knowledge but also have the unique opportunity to interact and obtain guidance on a one-to-one basis with these reputed professionals.
At WLCI, we believe that the best method of teaching is to encourage you to learn by doing. You execute a series of formative and summative assignments for each module of the curriculum. At the end of the module you submit a final or integrated assignment which is assessed for specified outcomes. Your faculties give you detailed feedback on these assignments which adds a further dimension to your learning.
You also undertake Projects which are assessed to meet industry standards. Each project assigned to you is specially created by a team of experts from the industry. You work to a set deadline and are required to submit a comprehensive document in the required format. Your faculty consistently monitors your progress and advises you on the project so that you can achieve the desired goals.
WLCI has a transparent assessment system. It is especially designed to be clearly and easily understood by both the students and the Faculty. You are graded on outcomes specified for each module. This systematic approach helps in recording and tracking your academic progress and achievements.
It also helps in identifying areas of strength and weakness and you receive relevant feedback which enables you to progress further to achieve excellence at each stage of your academic and professional training. During your traineeship, you are evaluated for performance by both an industry guide and your academic mentor at the College.
At WLCI, all our programmes provide you with a Traineeship in your chosen field of interest. You gain hands on work experience while still studying at the college which gives you a professional edge over others. This gives you an insight into the industry and you learn to apply theoretical concepts learnt in the classroom to real life situations. You also learn professional skills and learn to handle challenges in the work-place even before you complete your academic programme. A special emphasis is laid on the development of Life Skills throughout your tenure at the college. You develop personal abilities and acquire specific skills which help you to work effectively in the work environment. These cover areas such as managing and developing self, working with others, communicating, managing tasks and solving problems etc.
At WLCI, tutors devote themselves towards helping you develop such skills. You are graded in these areas of development, as well as, for professional knowledge and skills.
The Life Skills Programme is divided into three parts. In the beginning you will be introduced to simple skills that you will need on the job, such as communication skills, interview skills, time management, team working skills etc. At the intermediate level you acquire basic working skills like managing commitments and making sure that you deal effectively with your colleagues and seniors in the organization.
At the advanced level you will learn how to keep your word and the value of integrity and ethical conduct in your life.
