Financing Your Education

At WLCI we support you in your endeavour to get a high-quality education.  We recognize that some of you may need financial assistance to pursue your studies. Here are some of the measures we have taken to assist you in this effort.

Student Loans
................................................................................

WLCI has a formal arrangement with leading banks to extend educational loans to help you finance your higher education.     You can approach either the Punjab National Bank or the ICICI Bank to obtain loans for our Advanced and Professional Level programmes. A maximum loan of Rs. 7.5 lacs can be taken for studies in India. These loans shall be provided to finance any of the following :

• Tuition fees payable to WLC College India
• Purchase of Books  
• Travel Expenses/Passage money for studies abroad
• Board and lodging

Interest Rates

Interest rates vary in every bank. Please note that the interest rates and policies are decided by respective banks/RBI/GOI and may vary from time to time.

Repayment Tenure

You are required to begin repayment of the loan six months after completing the programme or on securing a job, whichever is earlier. The maximum repayment tenure is 7 years.

Security
.......................................................................................................................................................................

Loans are generally secured by parent(s)/guardian of  the student borrower.
You do not need to furnish a guarantee or security for loans up to Rs 4 lacs. Collateral security in the form of a suitable third party guarantee needs to be furnished for any loan above Rs 4 lacs and upto a limit of Rs 7.5 lacs.

Application Procedure for taking a Loan

You need to complete and submit the following while applying for a loan :

• Submission of the Education Loan Application Form 
• Marksheets of the last qualifying examination which  you have taken
• Proof of Registration with WLC College
• Fee Structure of the College
• 2 passport size photographs of the student
• Borrower's Bank account statement for the last six months
• Income Tax Statement of the Co-borrower for the last 2 years
• Brief statement of assets and liabilities of the Co-borrower
• Proof of Income of Co-borrower (i.e. Salary slips/ Form 16 etc.)

Scholarships

WLC College offers a variety of opportunities to help you achieve your educational goals. Some scholarship awards are made on the basis of academic performance and others on the basis of your  financial need.

Scholarships based on Financial Need
The College reserves 15% of its seats for meritorious but economically underprivileged students. This scholarship can be availed for all our programmes and at all our campuses across the country. It entitles students to a 100 percent waiver of the tuition fee.

You are eligible to apply for this scholarship if your family income is  less than Rs 1 lakh per annum and if you have obtained a Merit in both the WLC College Admission Test and Scholarship Interview.

Freeships for Defence Services Personnel
WLC has instituted the following freeships/ scholarships for children of Army, Navy and Air Force personnel under the following categories:

• Category A: 100% freeship: This is a special scheme for children of personnel, of any rank, who were killed in action. 

• Applicants must hold a Graduate degree or Equivalent to apply for Professional Programmes and 10+2/Equivalent qualification  to apply for Advanced Programmes.
• Applicants must obtain a Merit in both the WLC College Admission Test and Scholarship Interview to apply for either of these.

Inter-campus Scholarships

WLC College offers two merit scholarships, per campus, to students from campuses in non-metro cities, to complete the last part of their programme at any of our four metro campuses, vis-à-vis, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata & Bangalore. These entitle them to study at the metro-campuses at the same fee structure of their original campuses.

Scholarships to Study at Wigan & Leigh College, UK

WLC College offers two All India scholarships to students to complete Advanced Level Programme or the Professional Level Programme at Wigan & Leigh College, UK. Under this scholarship, the awardees are entitled to study at UK as the same fee structure of their original campuses.

Work Based Fee Waivers
.......................................................................................................................................................................

Students can avail a waiver on the tuition fee by working for the College alongside the programme. The fee waivers are limited to the stipend earned at the College.
Advanced Level students can avail a fee waiver of Rs 25,000/ per Programme by working for the College for 24 hours per week, while Professional Level students can avail a fee waiver of Rs 35,000 per programme by working for the College for 36 hours per week.

Opening A Bank Account

Student can opt to open a savings bank account in any bank in the city where your campus is located. However, for your convenience, the College can help you open a bank account. Please contact the Student Relations Manager at your campus to obtain an application form and guidance on procedures required to open an account.
