The WLCI Fashion School offers graduates professional programmes in Fashion Marketing & Merchandising. This is an exciting and fast-paced field and is meant for those of you who aspire to combine a passion for style with business acumen. This field requires a blend of fashion sense and business expertise. The programme places emphasis on marketing and promotional strategies for the Apparel Industry. In these programmes you will gain an awareness of the latest fashion trends and will be taught business operations including material sourcing, product buying, consumer behaviour analysis, retailing, visual merchandising, handling of suppliers and logistics and product marketing. This programme gives you an overview of the Fashion industry in India and abroad. You will be given an understanding of pattern making, basic construction and design details. You will develop a range of skills necessary for producing a garment. You will understand processes and assembly methods for producing sample garments. During the programme, you will acquire knowledge and skills in using computer software for art and design. You will also develop the ability to identify, understand and interpret fashion details and silhouettes. The programme will introduce you to fundamental concepts of financial accounting and the marketing process including an understanding of concepts of segmentation, marketing mix and the application of these to different market segments. On completion of the programme, you would have developed an understanding of all aspects of fashion and acquired competencies to perform marketing functions in the fashion and garment export industry. We enhance your skills in using advanced computer software for art and design. During the programme, you will also learn the fundamentals of market economics.
